Management: Wolanyo Kpo, PhD; Lynette Elmes, DBA How It Started: Human Service Resources, Inc (HSRI) started in 2003 as a single and spontaneous lunch feeding episode that provided lunch to 100 schoolchildren in Ghana when Dr. Lynette Elmes realized that some elementary school kids did not have food or money for lunch during their lunch break. She paid for roadside meals for these unlucky and hungry 100 on the spot. Since then, our organization has expanded into a fully-fledged education charity, supporting education and literacy programs for poor and underserved children in Ghana, Africa. We also provide capacity building for early childhood programs in Chicago, Illinois, USA. In addition, we provide skill development opportunities for youth with less than High School education in Ghana.
